I also made three smaller versions with strong background colours (the other two were in yesterday's post), but they kind of loose the original idea and the subtle details.

a hard day's work

Sunday. I got up at 6 in the morning. It was a rainy day. I drove to KKV. My grandma's old radio played me a sad tune. I didn't make any masterpiece.

... I prepared this one. I've almost finished using it now. Tomorrow I'll show you the result.

enamel preparation

I'm working on the third face (top photo) for an enamel triptych I'm planning to print and burn on Monday. The two other photos are the first two faces made in May. Making the third part of a triptych is very tricky . It's like ending a sentence - you can turn it all around by adding something different.

I sketch in black ink, but will print in blue. The idea is to get the look of blue china taking the advantage of the shiny surface of the enamel. Here you can see how I'll make it - I always rework the print by scraping and painting before burning it.

I'm back!

So after two weeks absence (I barely checked my mail twice) from internet - I'm back! Things turned out to take more time to arrange than I though...
I'm a time optimist, you see.

not so focused

every day I walk by this painting - I'm dying to add that final touch to it. But I have to wait. I have so may to do-lists that I made a to do-list for the to do-lists. But I'm not the only one moving away to start over; Kristi is changing Portland, Oregon for Zürich. I move in a month, she'll move in a week. It will be interesting to follow our parallel paths.

I work day and night right now with the arranging and preparing so I'll (cross your fingers) get the time to make a big enamel triptych and three new screenprints at KKV before I move. That also means there will be less posts here. Probably.

back from London

a week of apartment-hunting is over.
a week of walking many streets
a week of splendid French hospitality and food staying at friends' place
a week of seeing shitty apartments and finally finding one that will do.

The top photo is the view from our friends' place - doesn't it look kind of French?.

In London

I'm seeing apartment after apartment outside central London (zone 3). I can't upload any photos, so I'll save that until Thursday when I'll be back in Sweden.

just a note on my children's book project: here you can read the "rules of the game". I've just cut this one out of the paper and drawn the lines - all the painting was made by my son (then I've seen "something")

I'm in transit. Moved out, but still not in my new place. I'm staying in my mother's house. I have had no time to put on my work - until now: half past ten on Friday night. I'll try to locate pen and paper.

200 posts.
I started this blog in January last year and after a slow start I got the speed up by September - and in February this year I reached 100 posts. Blogging has made me bring my camera almost everywhere and documenting things all the time. Blogging has also made me read others' blogs and seeing the enormous creativity going on all around the world. What has also amazed me is the generosity, good will and fantastic projects that many bloggers share with each other. Thank you! (later this summer when I'll get more time (?) I'll add, to my blog, a link list to some of these fantastic bloggers)

I could barely believe my eyes today when I suddenly saw the pattern on this leaf: five circles on a row - and a perfect little heart. Had I discovered this heart just some week ago I could have participated in Pia Jane Bijkerk's project My heart wanders. I always discover these interesting projects two days before closing date...

tonight we had a goodbye party for me in my studio. Cheese, bread and wine. The Chèvre was great. I've been sharing this studio - Studio 5 - with some other artists for 7 years. That's a long time. You can not imagine the amount of trash I've saved ( "this might turn out useful one day"). I do not feel in control. I go there every day and just stare at the mess. Then I pack two drawings. Monday is the last day of June - will I be able to move out by then?

One of my colleges told me tonight about the "new thing" were you have to be as an artist - THE BLOG. This is the way to reach people. You go to other blogs and comment that they are great and then you can get a network all over the world.
Hm , I said - it's not that easy...

These days I do nothing but cleaning, arranging, throwing things away - and moving things (to store in my mother's house). It's very frustrating to just make some "night sketching" and nothing more.
