pink beans

I thought I had painted a very pinkish background on one of my paintings - until I saw these beans. First I tried to post a photo of the painting here as well ... but it got so pale in comparison that I'll leave it for another day. The painting was no competition for the beans!

The beans look really great - and I like the different hues - some of it almost mauve! (Re. the Jennifer New book - it is really beautiful - I know one always takes a chance when ordering a book online without having seen it - on Amazon you can see a limited number of pages - but it is not really the same as paging through it in a bookshop!)

Kristina - it is a kind of Runner bean. I'm not sure about the exact English name for it. Just when you open the green pods the beans inside are super pink and purple ... but when they start drying they lose their colour a bit.

Nathalie - I'm not planning to do anything with them. They belong to my little son who is saving them for his garden next year (on our balcony!)
