how to get over that block?

For almost three weeks I've been trying to make some new paintings. I wanted to renew myself. But I haven't made any masterpiece - "au contriare". I've tried working in a different way with watercolour (spraypaint and sponge), pored black ink hoping for happy accidents - and topped it by making the worst kitsch painting ever (no, I won't show it).

Frustration.
Crisis.

Took some time to think today. Realized I've been forgetting that the concept actually is vital for me in my working process - and has always been. Why did I focus on the material? (Important, but not my starting point). Now I'm hoping for a turning point in the studio tomorrow. Cross your fingers.

When I feel blocked I use a change of venue for inspiration; a drive in the country, a hike in the mountains... But, Fingers crossed!!! Not that you need them to be. You'll work thru it. Your work is just amazing!

No te preocupes Alexandra, eres una artista con talento, encontraras de nuevo tu camino con el que te sentiras comoda. Hace poco escribi en mi blog sobre las crisis de los artistas y las posibles soluciones, ya que es algo que nos ocurre a todos.

I have my fingers crossed for you.

(For me, a long shower or reading can sometimes help. And lots of ugly experiments.)

I've had one of those days today... Too many ideas and my hand didn't want to follow my brain's orders. I felt so clumsy... I hope you have a better day tomorrow; I'm sure you'll get through this block fine.
