Santa getting old

Ok.
He just got out the door.
But what was he about to do?
It felt like it was something important.
Why was he holding this big sack?
Must be the garbage...

not a good girl

She knew Santa would bring her no gifts this year.
But it was totally worth it.

Christmas vacations

I'm still having Christmas vacations. I had promised not to work - and I've almost kept my promise ... just a little scanning of prints and checking websites (thinking about how to make myself a new one). Petri Hytönen doesn't just have a nice website - he's also a very good artist. I especially likes his watercolours of Lego.

Even though I'm officially not working I'm of course planning my work - and longing for it. And kind of making extra After New Year Resolutions. It's like when someone asks you what you want for your birthday - and you can think of almost nothing. Until after your birthday. It's the same with me and New Year Resolutions - the best ones come a week later.... One of them is to work with sketchbooks - like Camilla Engman - not on all those loose little papers... And do it regularly.

Merry Christmas!

I'm (of course) taking some days off for Christmas. And then some days off to recover a bit from a busy autumn. But I might be back already the days before New Year. You never know.

And - crossing fingers helped. I'm going to make the animal enamels in the beginning of next year - with the text under the images.

last Christmas

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart But the very next day, You gave it away. This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special ...

No seriously: Last Christmas I made this little stove (hight approx 40-50 cm) for my son. It looks like our own (real) stove. This year I want to make something as well. But what? I'm soon running out of time. Maybe something for his little trains? We'll see. Anyhow - this week I'm a bit busy with Christmas preparations - I don't know if I'll have time to paint...

wrapping

We started to wrap Christmas gifts last weekend. We alway have so fun making them look different and appealing. It actually feels like a pity to open them - and destroy them - later.

screen: day 2

This two days-screen printing session was actually supposed to be a test printing for the "enamel week" I'm planning in two weeks. But I must admit it became a minor part of my screening. Sure, I printed five roosters with different combinations of street name and number - but that was it. (yes it's still the animal enamels I just keep referring to, but actually never make. Just planning).

Above is a mirrored deer looking more red nosed Rudolf like (photo taken from a strange angle). Printed today. I'm planning to use it as Xmas card - both for selling and giving away. I made another one as well. I'll post "proper" photos of them later.
