OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!

There is nothing as liberating as having art pieces you aren't pleased with. You can do anything you want! There is no fear of destroying something, no respect.

Over worked?
Work on it more. Cut it. Tear it. Poor coffee and wine. Let your kid play with it. If it still sucks just throw it away - or continue having fun and make it worse...

... it could magically happen that you make something really interesting out of it ... (but don't hope for it - then you loose the liberty of destruction)

Christine works with cutting things too, but in a different way - and now she has a great give-away!

I understand that principle! If something feels too precious it can be very limiting. That is why I like using second-hand books for my art journals. Beautiful journals with all that white paper frighten me. I don't mind making a bit of a mess in a second-hand book. I liked your Open Wide painting. Reminds me a bit of going to the dentist!

you know what - i love it when you do this... not because it is a destructive act, but because it shows how much you communicate and interact with your work. your mind and soul are fully invested in what you do. i respect and admire that so much.

100% agreed.

Sometimes I just put these works on the bottom of the drawer and after a few weeks I look at them again - I always hope, they will look better. Mostly they don´t :-)

Hear hear! Frihed i processen er vidunderligt, og balancen er så fin. Fra ikke at have noget at tabe til at få forventninger, og pludselig er magien væk. Tak for linket :o)
